How to Tell When Your Mattress Is Worn Out

Buying a mattress is no small expense. They can cost upwards of several thousand dollars for a high-end one, so it is no surprise that many people put it off as long as possible. Many people will stick with the same old mattress simply because they do not want to spend the time and money looking for a new one, but this is a mistake. If you are not getting good rest, then you are likely not waking up feeling your best, and this can impact the rest of your day. Here are a few ways you can tell if your mattress has had it and it is time to look for a new king mattress in New Orleans.

Sagging Springs

This can manifest itself in a few ways. It can result in a lumpy, uncomfortable mattress, or it can cause a sinkhole effect. This will cause you to sink in and can wreak havoc on your alignment. When this starts to happen, it can be time to start searching for a new mattress. While any mattress is likely to develop sagging springs if it is used long enough, the most common cause is not rotating your mattress. This causes uneven wear to the mattress and can leave one side useless while the other is just fine.

It Creaks

This is usually a sign that something inside of the mattress if broken. On top of it being less than comfortable, the squeaking is also likely to keep you up at night and can cause less than restful sleep. Make sure it is actually the mattress creaking and not the box spring. If it is the box spring, then the mattress may still be good.

If you are not getting as good of sleep as you used to, then it may be time to replace your mattress. If one or both of these is the case for you, then your mattress is likely worn out, and it is time to replace your old mattress.
